Over the past seven days we’ve seen weather warm enough for people to throw on their bathing suits and play some beach volleyball, but this past Monday it got cold enough for Iceman to thrive.
This week’s MOTW saw Gary’s big return in a match with Megan against newcomer Lori and the ladder’s Top Gun, Billy Seguin.
This match saw drives hitting Mach 2 time and again, as it was a battle of strong forehands and tremendous athleticism. It was a dogfight to see who could best maintain composure with high flying ground strokes rifling in.
Lori and Billy reigned supreme in the match, as Billy was overheard saying, “You can be my wingman anytime,” to first time partner Lori.
Her tennis acumen rivaled Gary’s on the court. Meanwhile, Megan and Billy got to every drop shot and passing shot, making every point hard fought and earned.
Gary was wearing his National Titlist Medal during warmups and during the match, which left Billy visibly upset. As they say, your ego is writing checks your body can’t cash.
When it was all said and done, Billy and Lori were just too consistent and powerful, and Megan and Gary got their goose cooked, losing 6-3, 6-4.
